Are Ink Guardian products anti-septic?

Manuka Honey has a unique set of anti-bacterial, anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, having been found to have killed every type of bacteria including various superbugs. The anti-bacterial qualities in Manuka Honey helps promote faster healing of wounds through the active enzymes in the honey which causes the dead skin cells to lift off the wound, leaving a clean area for regeneration without damage.. The Manuka Honey stimulates growth of new blood capillaries, replace connective tissues and produce collagen fibers that give strength to healing wounds. It helps stop secondary infections because the skin regenerates quickly with less scarring. Due to the osmotic effect the Manuka Honey creates it helps remove bacteria in the wound while drawing moisture to the affected area alleviating inflammation and soreness.

Can I use a petroleum base product?

Many over the counter antibiotic ointments can effectively fight against bacteria. However, allergic reactions to the ingredients in the ointments can lead to pimple like red bumps developing on the tattoo. Often finding that once these red bumps had disappeared that there is a loss of ink in the affected areas, being left with a 'spotted' tattoo.

Another reaction is commonly known as 'weeping' tattoo in which the tattoo leaks a small amount fluid from the wound, even several days into the healing process.

What are the effects of a topically applied vitamins on my skin?

We use Vitamin E in our products to nourish and aid the healing of the skin. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant that is essential to the maintenance of healthy skin, assisting the skin by:

  • Protects tissue against oxidation
  • Promotes normal red blood cell formulation
  • Decreases scarring

Does Ink Guardian Natural Tattoo Aftercare have an expiry date?

No, the opening label on your product should indicate how many months the product will remain best after opening, but due to the natural ingredients and preservatives, Ink Guardian products have a very long shelf life after opening.

Is Ink Guardian Natural Tattoo Aftercare sulfate free?

Yes, sulfate is often used for cleaning solutions in the kitchen. It is a grease cutter, drying agent and a surfactant. Sulfate will certainly destroy the natural oils in your skin that is essential to your skin healing.

Does Ink Guardian Natural Tattoo Aftercare contain parabens?

No, Parabens are chemicals used as preservatives that are found in a variety of products. They are used to fight bacteria and fungus and are widely available, cost little to manufacture and use. Nearly all of the parabens used are man made and are not naturally occurring.

Does any Ink Guardian products contain any animal products?

We do not use any animal derived products or source ingredients that are tested on animals.

How should I store Ink Guardian Natural Tattoo Aftercare?

To prolong the life of your product, it is suggested that you store your product out of direct sunlight and below 30 degrees Celsius. Note that as it is a natural product, consistency will vary according to the temperature the product is exposed to.
